Ten Reasons Why You Should Never Accept a Diamond Ring...

Awesome post, Jon!!  I felt a little hurt when Ayako told me (back in 2001) that she didn’t want a diamond ring as an engagement token.  Her explanation was based mostly on your reason number 5.  We didn’t do rings for the wedding either.  You can read about what we did instead on my profile here.  Thank you for being another to spread the truth and help expand the consciousnesses of those around you!  Cheers!

There are many positive metaphysical values to diamonds as well; it is sad that the capitalism of the process of “owning” the diamonds scars the value of it for those who resonate well with the energy that diamonds offer.  So, on one hand…. if you buy diamonds for the sheer glamour and superficiality of owning a bedazzling gem… well, yes… then you are buying the gems described in that post…. but it’s like saying that ALL diamonds are bad because of this story.  All diamonds?
On the other hand… I do believe that there are diamonds harvested positively from the earth, and that they do hold the metaphysical vibrations of strength, fortitude, pure intention, abundance, and perfection.  Those diamonds also exist to be purchased…
I just don’t want to fall into the media of what others think… either direction… I believe in the positive things in life…. and I am also aware that negative things happen in conjunction with all aspects of life… not just diamond harvesting.  I choose to promote and see the positive in all things.  It is nice to know the truth about life…. but it’s what you do with that *new wisdom* that matters.  By promoting the positive views in life, that is the reality that I am manifesting… positve.
now… personally, I am not interested in the diamond itself… my first engagement ring was a blue sapphire, I was asked what I would prefer… a stone that more closely resonates with my energy.

I love to hear what I may be contributing to with any action.
Although, I don’t think that I’m in the market for a diamond just yet.
But you never know.
I guess if it were something that meant a lot to someone I cared about, I would consider
some of mscprikell’s thoughts. Looking for postively harvested diamonds maybe.
It’s probably not the norm but with this “new wisdom”, I think I would be able to make a more conscious decision.
